Tinted Windows is the 2009 model of the supergroup, a label first invented to sell the likes of Cream, Blind Faith and Crosby, Stills & Nash in the late ’60s.
Just as those bands were assembled from the prime components of other fine-tuned music machines, Tinted Windows sports an unlikely combination of parts that includes bassist/singer/songwriter Adam Schlesinger, 41, of Fountains of Wayne and Ivy; guitarist/singer/songwriter James Iha, 41, who’s had successful runs with the Smashing Pumpkins and A Perfect Circle; drummer and co-founding Cheap Trick member Bun E. Carlos, 57, and Tulsa-born singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Taylor Hanson, 26, of the hit-making brother act, Hanson.
