TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - This is the last weekend to see Beethoventhe beluga whale at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma. He'll be flown next week to his new home at Sea World in SanAntonio. Curator John Rupp told The News Tribune of Tacoma on Thursdaythat the 16-year-old male beluga is in good health and will have anopportunity to breed. The move will leave the Tacoma aquarium without a beluga.Beethoven's companion Qannik (kah-NIK') died in March of a bloodinfection. The zoo plans to use the beluga pool for harbor seals.
